AUCKLAND SCHOOL STATISTICS.. ; In the Aucldnrid educational district Inet year thoro were 506 schools in operation, including 86 half-time schools. In. December, 1908. there wore 651 fonialo and 430 male teachers employed, a total of 081, 816' being above the rank of pupil teachers. At the end of the- year'thoro wore 35,810 schol- : are on tlio rolls of the publio schools in the district, "this beting' an increase of 2636. during the'jtenr. 'At 243 achools: 2319 Maoris and lialf-oastes attended. The increase ,in the Rvorage attendance' for;tho year was 3347.
