Tho buildings, which also included a billiard room .ami two' other rooms, were totally "destroyed; 7 as was also some recreation material' and a- quantity, of clothing, etc., belonging to tho Owaka lliflos. Tho firo is supposed to have been caused by sparks from a railway engine blowing underneath tho hall; whero oocoamit matting was storod. The-building was insured for £250, the billiard table, for £30, arid tho clothing for £200—a total of £480, all in tho State firo 'office.
