MIRAMAR BOROUGH COUNCIL.
The fortnightly meeting of the Miraroar Borough' Council was held last night, thero being present :-Tho Mayor (Mr. C. J. Crawford), and Couuoillovs Ji'Lcod, Brodie, 8011, t and Cooper. ■ . .•'.<"■ J k discussion took, place on tho'Government's \ proposal to allow borough councils to carry out v their own valuations, and mnko a separate ono s itself. The Mayor said that last yoar the v valuations cost the- council JC43, and under c tho proposed sjstem it would quadruple tho r expense without giving any benefit. He moved i that tho Government be urged to ; reconeider the reported decision to stop milking borough valuations, as the proposed alteration in tho I system would probably Dβ expensive and waste- I fill.
