(FROM oua SPECIAL EEPOBTEIt.)! ~—i TIMBER CARGOES. \ A-cargo of timber was landed at Petone Wharf yesterday afternoon by the s.fe. Defender. This is tho first timber shipment to be delivered over the new wharf. It consisted of 100,000 feet of mixed timber from Greyniouth, consigned to tho Hutt Valley Timber Co. : Next month a cargo of 350,000 feet of jlrrah is expcctcd from Australia for use in the> construction of the Hutt pipe and traflio bridge. HUTT MAYORALTY. Mr. E. P. Bunny addressed a larpo meeting at Lower Hutt Town Hall last ev&ning in stopport of his candidature for the. mayoralty. Mr. Orton Stevens occupied tho chair, and\ a hearty vote of thanks aud confidence was carried at the conclusion. Our report is unavoidably hold over. . . \
