The senior team was never beaten' last year. It was confidently expected that the second eleven, whion-had. excellent material, would cut" an a, strong fight for the junior championship, but these expectations wero ; not realised. ■ The third eleven, handicapped on most occasions by a shortage of players,.must be complimented on the manner, m which .they played an uphill game- throughout the season. The committee expressed the opinion that the proper, placing of.playere, both as to class and position in the held, .was of vital importance in. the interests of the team and the club, and that thfi incoming selection committees should carefully review the abilities of all the members on the active players' list. In interprovincial matches was represented by P. L. Ashbolt, C. ?°! so ?ii: a Exl , eT ' L ' Elliott, W. Birkett, and V*. fcrnythe; and in the junior representative Ihe thanks of the club are due to Messrs W E Bethune and C. E. Matthews for trophies. The club commences practice at Day's Bay to-mor-row.
