Young, a younger brother to Wm. and R. Young, made his first public appearance in tho saddle at the Fcilcfing meeting. All lied has now won. two races sinco his salo was declared off, and his owner must bo well satisfied that ho did not part- with the son of Stepniak. Mr. H. C. Connop, of Woodvillc, advertises for salo tho racehorses Itangitoto. Clarabelle, and Loin aria—all good winners —also tho brood mare Fadelein, and tho thoroughbred stallion Glengowrie. Vaiouru (Conqueror—Marionette) was ono of tho disappointing competitors at tho Feeding meeting, and it looks as if lie will roquiro more time before he can win.
Whatakura was galloped on in the hurdle raco on tho second day of the Foilding meeting, but was not seriously injured, it was rather unlucky that ho was not accepted for in tho two-milo raco on tho first day, as his subsequent running showed that ho would havo had a great chance.
Rangihaota, who showed good form in tho liurdlo events at Foilding, is engaged in tho jumping event on tho second day of tho Trentham fixture.
Conqueror is suro to bo well up on tho winning sires' list this season, for Waipalru has already credited him witn winnings to tho valuo of over £1000.
Several of tho hurdle horßcmon in this district wero riding in flat races at tho Feilding races, and tbey generally showed themselves to bo particularly alert at tho barrier.
In this issuo tho Egmont Racing Club' inserts a notice to owners regarding tho closing of nominations for tho Autumn mooting.

W. O'Connell was one of tho most popular horsemen in tho South Island, and his death will bo the oause of universal regret among members of tho profession. The remains of tho deceased aro being brought from Lyttelt-on this morning, and will bo taken 011 for interment'to Feilding, to where his relatives havo been summoned.
