Considerable interest is being manifested in tlio Eastbourne elections. Both candidates for tho Mayoralty—Messrs. J. Ban- and 11. Shortt—aro working assiduously. Associated on a "ticket," issued yesterdnv, ivcro tlio names of Mr. Shortt as candidate- for tlio Mayoralty. and Messrs. D. Robertson. T. Foley, Dr. M'Kenzio (retiring councillors), and C. Ilussell, 11.. Sanson, S. G. Ross, and W. J. Orpan, as candidates for positions on tho council.

Tho Hon. John Rigg, M.L.C., will address tlio electors at St. Thomas's Hall, Newtown, this evening. Mr. F. M. B. Fisher's meetings at Roseneath and Island Bay aro advertised to-day. Mr. T. M. Wilford will speak at Island Bay, Kilbirnie, Sydney Street, and Aro Street, as advertised in this issue. Dr. Newman's meetings for the period April 14 —21 inclusive, aro advertised elsewhere.
