181 TEI.EOBAI'n.—«PKCI*r. CORItESPOIaWM * * Duncilin, April 13. Councillor J. Small has prepared somo interesting iiguros as to tho financial position of the Duncdin Corporation. Ho says that seven year 3 ago (1&J02), omitting loan interest and sinking t fund, tho proposed expenditure was £28,598. That agreed to by the council last week was (omitting Caversham and South Duncdin, £5776), no less than '£55,518, or nearly double, while the rateable value of tho city has only increased by £74,000,, or about one-fourth, the actual figures being from £2GG,000 in 1802 to £340,000 in 1909.
