From a good start, Flavinins, Flaxen, and Golden Slipper got away from Artillerin and Trafalgar, with Uowletts, Footpad, and Didiis last. Coming into tho straight, the order was: Klavinhis and Golden Slipper, slightly in front of Flaxen, then King-Deny, Artiilerip, Pendil, snd Trafalgar. I'assing Ihp stand Golden Slipper and Flavinius wore just clear of Flaxen, Artillcrie, King Berry, l'en[lil, ami Cail liny. Reaching the mile Flavinius had a length advantage, with Artillerio, I'rafalgar, Call Boy, and Neith, in that order. At six furlongs Flavinius was loading from Flaxen by two lengths, Golden Slipper and Trafalgar being well up. The same order obtained at the half-mile, where Flaxen and l'lavinius died away. Trafalgar, Black Prince, and Footpad showed the way to the straight, where Ungarie and Didus put in their claim. Despite a great run by Ungarie at the halfdistance, Trafalgar struggled home a winner by half a length, there being three lengths between the second and the third horses. Then came Neith, Black Prince, Beddon, Vavasor, Artillerie, Footpad, Flaxen, Pendil. Golden Slipper, with Flavinius last. Time, 3miu. 29 i see. ' .
