Captain Edwin expressed his grntitudo to t!ie staff and his appreciation of their kindly relationships in the office. Though terminating a loni; and anxious sorvieo with some feelings of relief, lie was sorry to leave them nnd the work, which ho had always found of great interest. Another presentation' was made yesterday, when Mr. Allport, on behnlf of tho officers t>l the Marine Department throughout New Zealand, handed Captain Edwin a combined suit and dressing-case. Mr. Allport referred to lliv very happy relations which had always existed between the officers of the department and the captain throughout his long career in the service.' ! An address, signed by the officers who subscribed to the presentation, will bo handed tc> Captain Edwin at a later date.
