DEATH FROM ANGINA PECTORIS. IB IT TUI.EUUAI-It-ritESS ASSOCIATION I Oamaru, April 6. JUr. James M'Gimpsey, a farmer at JOnfield settlement, was found dead in bed this morning. Deceased, whilst working in a field yesterday, complained of pains in tlio chest, which he attributed to rheumatism. At tho inquest a verdict of death irom angina pectoris was returned. Clarkson, Director of the lechnical School, who was drowned wliiie bathing, was recovered from the surf this morning. It i» terribly disfigured. * iUr. b. h. MCarthy, coroner, to-dav conducted an inquiry into the death of It 1' Uarkson, and found that he was accidentally drowned on the beach, and that all reasonable c torts were made to prevent the death of the deceased, and to recover the body The tX%e^tl ! afalS UP " t,yr^0 " sib, " a fractious" horse. Our Carterton correspondent states:—Mr F. Stempa, a resident of this district, met with a.painful accident recently. It appears that he went to Gladstone to brinemi handled, and ,t was necessary to throw him to get a rope- on him. During this opera turn tho horse kicked out, and rtrackir Stempa on the head, stunning him, as well as inflicting a severe wound. The injured man was driven to Ins homo, where Dr Johnston put several stitches in tho cut, and tho patient is now doing well. •
