THE CALIFORNIA BOYS.
TO TOUR NEW ZEALAND. The " California Boys/ , eom© forty members of tho Columbia Park Boys' Club, of San Francisco, are about to tour New Zealand and Australia, on a lniud-cxpandiug mission that is peculiarly American in-char-acter. Fifteen vears ago Major Peixotto' started this club in, a back street in San. Francisco. To-day it numbers 400 members arid has set'a standard of clean jiving, clean thinking, and clean athletics for every boy in Sen Francisco. What tho public may expect is set forth in a circular, which says:—"You will hear out band of forty pieces play through" your street, a really fine band o? music, which has grown up together. Tho Pyramid Team of sixteen members open tho programme with delightful aerial poses, Then thoro is the Trio, as wonderful a midget set of sincere as you oould wish to hear, followed by a wild and whirling Zulu act, played by a clever diminutive, comedian; other acts follow, dono by just boys. There ' are three farces; all original, and all highly hilarious: boy life in all its phases. Tho plot, the stage business, and the dialogue have all been invented ekb, and elaborated and fin. ished by tihc boys' directors. Thoy havo been handed down by word of mouth for the last twelve years, and now, polished by use, form as amusing little farces as it is ,'possiblo to see."
