AMATEUR ATHLETICS.

A meeting of tho Executive Council of tho New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association was held last evening, thero being present Messrs. A. Marryatt (chairman), W. Coffey, A. Davies, W. F. Larkin, and W. G. Talbot.

A letter wqs received from tho secretary of the .conference of centres'held at Dunedin on March 20, advising that a.resolution asking the council at Wellington and the council at Christchurch to resign, was carried. On tho motion of tho chairman, seconded by Mr. Coffey, the following resolution was agreed to: — "That this Executive Council of the N.Z.A.A.A. appointed at tho conference of centre,"; held at Christchurch on December 5, 190S, herewith dissolves in accordance with tho ' resolution passed at the conferenco of centres hold in Dunedin on March 20, whereat a fresh council of tho N.Z.A.AfA. was set up."

It was agreed that a duly audited statement of accounts bo sent forward to Dunodin in accordance with tho decision arrived at by the Dunedin conference.

Members generally expressed themselves as extremely satisfied with tho solution of tho difficulty arrived at by tho conference of cc'ntres. special mention being made of the services ot Mr. J. Callan, who was chairman of the conference.

A vote of thanks to'tho secretary for his services was carried, and coinpliriientary reference was made to the tact and ability displayed by Mr. Marryatt at chairman of the association.

It was decided to forward a letter of sympathy to Mr. ,W. H. Pollock, who recently met with a severe injury which terminates his career on-tho running track.
