The second duck egg-laying competitioi held in the Dominion was formally openec at Mr. J. B. Merrett's poultry farm, St Albans, yesterday afternoon, by the Mayo of Christchurch (says a Press Associatioi telegram) ._ There are twenty-six pens en tered, which is claimed to be a world's re cord.
