Bookmakers arc notified by advertisement in this issue that application for licenses to bet at the Miramar pony races on Saturday may bo obtained lip till 4 p.m. on Friday next. W. Davies will tako Llanwcrn through to Mastcrton this afternoon. Tho Pilgrim's Progress colt will bo ridden by G. Price, who loft for tho scono of action yesterday. At a meeting of tho stewards of tho Wellington Pony and Galloway Racing Club, held yesterday, there was a full attendance, when tho question of tho running of Sweet Letho in tho March Cup at Miramar was re-opened. Tho stewards took tho evidence of 1\ Troy, trainer of tho marc, J. Bums, the jockey, and Messrs. A. Law and P. Mitchell, bookmakers. After an exhaustive inquiry, tho stewards wore unanimously, of tho opinion that Mrs. Troy, owner of Sweet Letho, and T. Troy, trainer, started tho inaro to win tho March Cup, and hacked lit for that event. Their disqualification was [ theroforo removed, and tho disqualification of tho jockey was confirmed. Tho trophy presented to tho Wellington Racing Club by tho president, Mr. J. B. Harcourt, has been on view at Armit's, Lambton Quay, during tho past coupl'o of days. Euclid has boon supported for a good amount to win tho Thompson Handicap at Trentham next mouth. Euclid is a six-year-old borso by Scaton Delaval or Soult from Problem (dam of Solution and Count Witto). During his racing career lie has only won one event, a maiden hack raco at tho North Canterbury Jockey Club's meeting last year. Ora Pinsent, tho full sister to Comedian, is engaged in tho Trial Hack Handicap, fivo furlongs, at Nelson, to-morrow, and will be ridden by R. Hatch. Tho Morriwco filly has been galloping in great stylo on the tracks lately, and it is stated that sho can run four furlongs in SOsec. any morning in the week. C. Cress will be riding at tho'Mastcrton meeting, and at tho conclusion of that fixture ho leaves for Auckland to rido Paritutu in tho hurdlo races at tho autumn meeting. In connection with tho Easter meeting of tho Feilding Jockey Club, owners are- reminded that acceptances for tbo first day's events, and entries for the Maiden Scurry, close on Saturday nest with tno secretary, Mr. E.
