At tho Fruit Exchange, Blair Street, today, at 1.30, a bankrupt stock of a country store will be sold by auction, without reserve, by Messrs. Thompson Bros., Ltd. Messrs. J. H. Bethune and Company announce in our auction columns that on Wednesday, April 21, at 2.30 p.m., at their rooms, under instructions from the Registrar of tho Supreme Court, they are submitting two properties at Petone. These are both situated in Manchester Street, tho land with each having a frontage of 40ft. by a depth of 131 ft., and on each section is a comfortable 5-roomed dwellinghouse. The title is land transfer, and full par-ticulars-may be had on application to the auctioneers. Mr. J. T. Hawthorn will address a meeting of Lower Hutt ratepayers to-morrow (Thursday) evening in the Hutt Town Hall, and will reply to criticisms made by other candidates tor the mayoralty.
