STERILISED MILK PRODUCTS.

Experiments which are still being made in the sterilising of milk by-products aro turning out satisfactorily. Among a largo number of pigs killed the other day—pigs fed previously on sterilised milk products—no animals were found to bo affected with tuberculosis. This would appear to emphasise the value, of sterilised foods. But it is alleged also that, in districts where the soil is of a strong limestone character, there is practically no tuberculosis among pigs, whether sterilised food is given or. not. Mauricevillo is quoted as an instance of this. The reverse is said to be tho case on many of the rich dairy pastures of Taranaki, and on theso> therefore, pasteurisation of the Wiley and skim milk would seom to bo clearly indicated.
