WINTER BUTTER PROSPECTS IN AUCKLAND.

Tho recent rains have freshened tho pastures in Auckland (telegraphs our special correspondent) to a very approciablo extent, after tho dry weather of February. Whilo tho dairying season, commencing very early, is now in its later stages, and tho revival of tho pasture cannot bo expected to bring about any increase'in the butter output, still there will bo a considerable steadying effect, and most of tho butter factories should bo ablo to build up good reserves for tho local market during winter. Storage of winter supplies has fairly commeucod, and a ' big total will bo lodged in cool chambers by tho end of May, as Auckland, whilo being in itself tho largest market in tho Dominion, also sends fairly large lines of butter to other centres for the winter trade.
