Taverner, Victorian Agent-General, who moved with a view to safeguarding the interests of producers of Australian winos—tho latter carrying a greater proportion of alcohol compared with Trench wines—Mr. Winston Churchill (President of the Board of Trade) has decided to hear Australian objectors to Franco's overtures for a now treaty for French wines. France desires the treaty in order to facilitate her exports to Great Britain of thin wines.
