MASTEBTON CLUB. ■ The annual meeting of the Masterton Foot» ball Club was hold last night The followofficers wore elected:—Patron, Mr. W. G. Lambj president, Mr. B. K. Logan; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. P. James, J. Elder, and A. Henderson; secretary and treasurer, Mr. A. Thompson; management committee, Messrs. B. Chapman, C. J. MacKollar, W. Minett, W. Redmond; match committee, Messrs. W. Minett, W. Darvill, B. Chapman, 1). Parton. Tho late secretary was elected a life member. Amongst the resignations received was that of J., O'Leary, the woll-known representatlvs player, who will throw in his lot with Poasonby, Auckland, this eeason. REFEREE'S ASSOCIATION." '• A meeting of the New Zealand Referees' As* sociation was hold last night. Presont:— Messrs. B. M. Isaac (in the chair), J. H. A. Laughton, J. M. Robb, F. A. Hempleman, F. A. Laws, and S. Siovers. Correspondence was received from various associations forwarding names of local delegates who will attend tho annual conference of tho New Zealand referees, which will bo held.at Now Plymouth at Easter. The resignation of Mr. P. Mackio, who has left the district, was received with regret, and a letter was sent to thank him for his past son-ices to Wellington and New Zealand foot) ball. .
Tho following rulings w£ro agreed, on is roply to a letter from tho Wellington Reforocs Association :— "If a player in possession of tho ball, and standing in tho fiold of play, deliberately reaches out his hand and touches the corner flag, tho ball shall bo considered as carriod back." . .
"The original formation of a scrummage oeases to exist when there are not at least two opponents facing each other." The annual report and balance-sheet to be presented at tho annual meeting wore drafted.
