Tho Australian Jockoy Club has made » number of alterations in tho season s programme. Tho added money in the Epsom Handicap has been increased to £1500, m tho Metropolitan Handicap to £3000, in tho Doncaster to £1500, in tho Sydney Cup to £3000, with proportional increases for second and third horses, and in tho added monev of a number of smaller racos. Tho distances of first hurdle races havebeen reduced from 2} to 2 miles, second hurdles 3 to 2J miles, and tho Randwick Plate from 21 to 2 miles. Tho distanco in tho First Nursery Handicap has been in- | orcased from' seven furlongs to a mile.
