LANSDOWNE SCHOOL.
Sd fftf as tils Wellington Education Board 16 concerned, tho matter of the appointment 6f the head teacher of the new scliool at Lansdowno may be regarded as closed by the action of the board in making the appointment after tho school committee had failed to do so.. But the Wairarapa School Committees' Association thinks otherwise. In .1 communication addressed to the board by the secretary of tho association, the writer stated tlint tho association regretted that tho board had attempted to override the wishes not only.of tho LansdOwno School Committee, but also of tho Lansdowne peoplo in tho appointment of a tcacher, and further regretted that the attempt was mado in a mahner which appeared to tho association to be in contravention of tho Education Act. At a meeting of tho association (to bo held said tho letter 011 March 21) tho whole question of the appointment of teachers, nt present in a very unsatisfactory state, will coma up for discussion. Thero was no comment. On the motion of Captain M'Donald, seconded by Mr. A. 11. Vilo, tho letter whs received and liiid on the tabic.
