In connection with Mr. Justice Higgins's arbitration award in the Broken Hill dispute, and the Proprietary Company's appeal to the High Court—based on the contention that matters were' introduced during the hearing vitally affecting the business of the company, which the Court had no jurisdiction to deal with—the High Court has granted a writ of prohibition, returnable on April 14. Sydney, MaToh 25. Tho directors of tho Proprietary Company are sending their horses to South. Australia for a "spell." This is taken as an indication that it is not intended to resume work for a considerable time.
Two men, named Rosser and Lyons, were committed for trial for maliciously destroying the Proprietary Company's railway lino on January 5.
