BOXING ASSOCIATION.
ANNUAL REPORT. According to the report to lio presented at the sixth annual meeting of tho Wellington Boxing Association on Monday, April 5, lost season was one of great activity. Record entries wcro recoived for tho provincial championships, 'and the committee had difficulty in getting off all tho events. A feature of tho programmo was tho introduction of wrestling, tho competition in which was moderately good. I>uring the season four tourneys, other than the championships, were held, and provided patrons of tho association with good entertainment. The association's representatives at tho New Zealand championships did not succeed ia bringing back any of tho coveted championships, although they gave, a creditable account of themselves, four members of tho team being runners-up in their respective classes. Numerically the team was the strongest over sent by; tho -association to tho championships, and it had Iho benefit of tho expert services of 51 r. T. Sampson (manager) and T. Trncey (trainer)., Owing to a variety of adverse circumstances, tho best beam could not bo got together to compote for tho Nathan Challengo Cup at Manawatu, but the association's representatives acquitted thcniEelves witli credit. Tho only representative of the association at the Australasian championship was defeated by tho winner in his division, but did credit to himself and the association.

Satisfactory terms wero arranged in connection with tho proposal that Burns, ox-world's heavyweight champion, should visit tho Dominion under Che auspices of tho association, but inquiry, convinced tho committco of tho impossibility of securing halls in various towns, and, after much negotiation, tho project had reluctantly to be abandoned. Tho thanks of tho association wero duo to tho press; Mr. W. I', Corbott, tho association's representative in Australia; the president and vice-presidents for donations and trophies:* Hon. J. ltigg, M.l,.C.,aud Mr. T. Si. Wilted, bl.e., for valuable services; tho lion, medical examiners;- and to tho porico authorities for their promptness in dealing with communications irom tho association.
