The driver received a bad legbrniso, and tho oti>jr occupant of tho .trap, who was thrown to tho ground, sustained a slight injury to his head. On investigation it was found that the harness had boon previously broken, and had beoa fixed together with a lace, which had now snapped, 2>resuniably with tho upward jolt of the shafts in going down hill. Tho horso wat badly cut about tho head and hind logs.

Isaac Randall, a cab driver, mot with fatal injuries early this morning through falling off tho dickey of his cab in Madras Street. It appears that at 1.15 a.m. ho was engaged by four young men to drivo to Kainpoi. Ho drove along Oxford Terrace and across tho Madras Street Bridge Soon after tho cab had crossed tho bridge tho occupants noticed that tho reins were very slack and tho horso practically uncontrolled. One of tho men took hold of tho reins and stopped the horso. On getting out they found that the driver was missing, and on making search found him lying on the bridge in an unconscious state. A doctor was summoned, and ho ordered Randall to bo removed to tho hospital, where ho died at 4.20 a.m. An examination of tho body showed that tho skull was fractured. Tho body of Andrew Goddcs Kerr, no countant iii Irvino and Stevenson's factory, was found on tho Town Bolt to-day. Therefore no marks of violence, and death would seem to havo been attributable to natural causes. During tho past two months he had been obliged to givo up work owing to illhealth and insomnia.
