SHOP BULLOCKS AT MASTERTON SHOW.
THE FINAL JUDGING. The final results of tlio judging for th« best shop bullock has been received by Mr. G. R. Sykes, secretary of .tlio Masfcerton A. and P. Association. Tlio conditions of competition (says our Masterton correspondent* wero that bullocks entered in this class wero to bo judged alivo at tlio show, and then forwarded to Wellington and judged after killing. At the lato MasterUm show there wero nino entries for competition, tlio' results being aa follow: —M'Kenzio Hros., 1; \V. Ataee, 2; (j. F. Moore, 3 and wh.c. Tlio cattlo wero killed b.v the Wellington Meat Export Company, and tlio carcasses wero judged by Messrs. Garrett and liigarlsford, butchers, of Wellington, tlio re-sults being as follow:— Jas. AVall, 1; W. Mace, 2; M'Kcnssie Hros., 3. The report was as follows"Manager, Meat Export Co., Wellington. Dear Sir, — Wo visited your Works nt Ngahauninga on March 15 to judge best bullocks for shop purposes. We wero shown a line of nino fat bullocks which wero killed that morning, and placed t'liem in this order:— First bullock, No. 4; second bullock. No. lj third bullock, No. 8. No. 4 is a very primo bullock of a very handy weight, with small bone, and would be hard to beat for shop purposes. No. 1 is a very primo body of beef, with fat very evenly laid on, not patchy, small in bone, the only fault being that it is a littlo on the heavy side. No. 8, very prime, hut not gross; very full of meat; small in bone; also on tlio heavy side. All nine bullocks wero very liicoly killed and dressed. They wero also free from bruises, and must have beert very carefully handled by your drovers and slaughtermen."
