WELLINGTON PROFESSIONAL ORCHESTRA.

ANNUAL MEETING. The second annual meeting of the Wellington Professional Orchestra was held on Saturday evening, in the New Century Hall, Kent Terrace. Mr. Rowe presided, and there was a full nttcndancj of members. The increased attendances .at the Sunday concerts wero noted with satisfaction, and, in reference to the movement by tho Council of Churches against these concerts, the report stated that in all probability Mr. T. M. Wilford would head, a deputation from the orchestra, and lay its oaso before the City Council. Subject to the approval of members it was intended to continue these concerts atvshort intervals during the coming season. Oakes (re-elected); leader of orchestra, Mr. J. P. Woodward (reelected); deputy-conductor, Mr. P. Wolfgang: deputy Mr. P. Boffa; deputy, Mr. Rowe; lioraricn. Mr 0. Patten; committee, Messrs. Rowe, L. King. D Glass, and J. Dick. Messrs. Woodward and Wolfgang were re-electod secretary and treasurer respectively. It was decided to givo the services of the orchestra to Mr. W. M'Lean for Hie saored concert in the Opera House on Easter Sunday night. Notice of motion (t j come up at next general meeting) was given that tho secretary bo remunerated fo. his services. The Nelsoa Jockey Club ivrote asking Barticulars regarding engagement at their forthcoming meeting on April 1 and 3. The matter was left m the bands of the secretary.
