Reef ton, March. 21, The manager of the Now Big River reports for the week ending Jlarch 19:—Work' has been' confined to the sinking of No, 9 winze, driving No. 9 level east, driviug two prospecting crosscuts from No. 9 stopes, repairing of No. 7 level and No. 2 intermediate level, and driving of a crosscut from No, 1 level. The only face in the mine where the reef is being: Worked just now' is in- No. 9 level east, and the lode is 7ft. wide and 4ft. wide in the bottom of the drive. During tho week somo;coarse gold could be seen in a portion of tho reef, and the average quality of tho reef is good. To-day (March 20) the weather has broken and the battery will be again running full'time, plenty of water being available. . REVIVAL IN MINING. ACTIVITY." At Boatman's the Golden Arch is busily employed crushing a large quantity of stone—the first crushing done for some time at ' that place. Prospecting parties -are out over Merrijig's place on the line of reefiing country running from the Globeto Big Rrver and Blackwater. On Friday and Saturday next, commencing oach day at 11 a.m., Messrs. A. L. Wilson and Co. will sell the whole of Messrs'. Rash pud Goodor's jewellery stock.
