BRITISH MEAT IMPORT REGULATIONS.
A "London Gazette" of January last contained an Order of the Local Government Board, in pursuance of the Public Health (Foreign Meat) Regulations, 1908, dealing with the official certificates granted for tho importation of foreign moat. Tho new Order prescribes that:— (i.) An official certificate used in relation to foreign meat, or in relation to ,1 box, case receptacle, or package coni taining foreign meat shall bo admissible only where the meat is derived from a (ii.l An official certificate in the form of a label shall bo admissiblo only whero tho label is securely affixed or attached to any foreign meat, or to any- box, case, 'receptacle, or package containing foreign meat; and whero tho label so affixed or attached has not, in any other circumstances, or on any other occasion, been used a3 an official certificate. ■ . , ' (iii.) In this" notice, any word or expression to which a special meaning la assigned by the Public Health (Foreign Meat) Regulations, 1903, has the samo meaning as in those regulations. Illustrations are given of labels and designs, with verbal descriptions, showing tho marks adopted by Denmark, the Netherlands, Canada, and New Zealand, and bearing a declaration on the label that the meat has been inspected for export to tho United Kingdom.
