AN ARREST-MADE. (01 TELEGRA?II—SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT.) Patmcrston, March 19. All day on Thursday rumours wero flying round concerning tho recent fire in. tho Royal Hotel. It. was Tcnown-that tho police were making.searching inquiries, but nothing was disclosed until 6 . o'clock, when tfrederick Jiupo, the porter at the hotel, who was arrested on the day of tho fire for drunkenness, ahd was discharged yesterday, was again arrested by Detective Quirke on a charge of attempthlg to burn down the Royal Hotel. Accused appeared in Court this morning before Mr. JT. Mowlem, J.P.,, and was remanded for a week.
