SOUTH WAIRARAPA POULTRY ASSOCIATION.

ANNUAL MEETING. Tho annual meeting of the South Wairarapa Poultry Association was held yesterday afternoon, Mr. E. Eagle, junr., presiding. Tho balance-sheet showed that tho association had had a prosperous year, the credit being £3 18s. 3d., and assets (practically all good) £19 2s. 6d. In moving tho adoption of the report, the president congratulated tho society upon is year's work. The North. Island Association wrote that Juno 30 . and July 1 had been allotted the society as show dates, and the championship for Buff Leghorns and Peking ducks. It also wrote that a number of championships had not been allotted, and the society could have any on payment of an extra guinea. The association also wrote giving names of championships under the old conditions, ,to be won twice, carrying a prize of £3 35., and those carrying £1 Is. per annum to be won outright. '. . ' The Wellington Poultry Society wrote that it was protesting against the North Island Association's demand of an extra guinea for any of the unallotted championships. It asked the Wairafapa Society to support its protest, aud it was decided to do so. The election of officers resulted Patron, Mr. H. It. Bunny (re-elected); president, Mr. C. lleid; vice-presidents. Messrs. Q. Donald, W. B. Allen, J. M. Ligntfoot, W. Toomath, It. J. Chapman; treasurer, Mr. E. Eagle, junr.;. secretary, Mr. W. Tucker ; auditor, Mr. R. P. Chapman; committee, Messrs. D. Reid, J. Standen, H. M'Phee, F. .Sunk'ol, -J. Oausland, A. J. Fisher, E. B. Eagle, T. W. Barnes, H. S. Moss, F. J. Dillon, H. E. Meyrick,. H. Catt, H. Judd, arid C. R. P. Annstrbng. Messrs. C. Reid, J. M. Nicholls, and W. Toomath. were appointed a committee to procure data with a view of considering the advisability of holding an egg-laying contest. A bonus of three guineas was voted to-.the retiring secretary, which he subsequently made ' a' donation'to the sooiety for special prizes. Votes of thanks • were accorded the auditor, treasurer, secretary, president, and the P. and A.' Society for the use of their grounds. . .
