ME. M'KENNAL HONOURED. (bt TiLEflßiPii—mess association—corrmoHT.) London, March 17. ■ At a banquet in honour of Mr. Bertram M'Kennal, tho Australian sculptor, the guests included a number of Australian exGovernors and artists. : . Lord Tennyson, an ex-Governor-Goneral of Australia, who presided, referred to Mr. M'Kennal as the pioneer of a noble individual Australian' art yet to arise, which would be a glory of tho Commonwealth and which would reinvigorato British art. Mr. M'Kennal, in his reply, said the mystery of the bush, its vast silences and distances, would somo day inspire a great art effort in tho Federal capital, and afford an opportunity to create a v monument of federation, proving this generation's full belief in the greatness of a nation yet to come.
