Bunting presided over a g-aod attendanco. Tho annual report and ibalance-sheot showed a satisfactory stato of affairs, there being a credit balance of £1 ss. 6d. Tho election of olhcors resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr. H. 13. Tucker; president, Mr. T. Childs (reelected); vice-presidents, Messrs. J. Bull, W. Bunting, M. Millar, C. H. Smith, and rW.Beck; captain, Mr. H. M'Gregor; vicecaptain, Mr. C. Tracker; secretary, Mr. F. Tucker; general committee, captain, vicecaptam, secretary, and Messrs. I l '. Bell and N. Stubbs; selection committee, Messrs. H. M'Gregor, and G. and F. Tucker; delegates to the annual general meeting, Messrs. Bell, and H. M'Gregor. Entries closed o'n Monday night for the Manawatu Association's tourney en March 25. Tho following entries wcro received in tho noviice class (up to 9st.):— S. Havill, Quinn, Brown, Bason, Symons, H. The report, after dealing with the year's work, stated that tho school last year had been run at a, loss < •'bout £220. Fortunately retrenchment .Id not be necessary, as the increased grant for holders of 1 free places made up the deficiency. The Board of Governors, as tho controlling authority of tho Technical School, had purchased a central site for a building, which they expected would be erected by next year. In the meantime progress had been made in temporary premises. Tho report was unanimously adopted, without discussion. Mr. W. MASTEKTON. At a meeting of the Knox Hockey Club, held last evening, the following officors wero elected for the .ensuing year:—Patron, Mr. J. Macara; pro? Sclent, Rev. A. T. It was reported at tho Borough Council meeting yesterday evening that the Masterton Trust Lands Trust could not see their way to make any grant towards the £500 donated by Dr. IV. H. Hosking for tho erection of ladies' baths. The Mayor states that Dr. Hosking had fitnphatically expressed a wish to havo tho baths erected on a site in tho Park. Tho speaker thought that the committee, which Tiad already been appointed to consider the matter, should bo authorised to proceed with the preparations of plans, cpecifications, and other preliminaries, in connection with tho work. The Kketalruna County Council and Chamber of Commerce havo been wrangling for some time over a grant of a hundred pounds placed on the Estimates for expenditure on an uncompleted thoroughfare known as bniith s Line, the amount having been obtained through the efforts of the Chamber, lno County Council objected to the sum being spent on tho road, and asked that it be diverted for metalling on a road which runs parallel to Smith's Line. The chamber wrote to the Roads Department, asking- if the County Council should not expend the amount on the road for which it was authorise. They received a reply to the effect that the mouey could not bo diverted in the direction indicated, but that it had been, transferred to tho Department for ex%s, T' f !
