In Prince Edward * Island tho average is £7 Os. od. per acre. J in Quebec £8' 155.,-in Ontario £9 175., and' in British Columbia' £15 17s. Values are ,- high in tho last-named province owing to ( the comparatively largo extent" of farm land ( there in orchard and small fruits. £ The average value of horses at the end of the year is £9 12s. for those under ono s year, £20 17s. for those of one to under i three years, and £29 16s. for those nf threo ' j'ears and over. . Horses of the last class are • below an aye-rage of £25 in Prince Edward Island, 'Nova Scotia, and Alberta; in New , Brunswick, , Quebec, and Ontario they aro j about £29 35., and in Manitoba and Sas- 'j katchowan they aro £35 Bs. to £36 133. Milch , cows have an average valuo in the Dominion j of £7 25., ranging from £6 Is. in Princa ; Edward Island and New Brunswick to £7 ] 10s. in Qn # tnrio;.;un,d. £7 -iMs.j.in/Saskatche,: ,' wan; but' in"'British Columbia the averago ' is £10... Theso averages are generally close, for all the provinces, but tho highest values aro given for : Ontario and tho western provinces. The average value of swine is given as £1 is: od. per 1001b. live weight, being lowest' in Manitoba,.Saskatchewan and Alberta, and highest in Quebec, Ontario, and British Columbia. Sheep aro giyen an average value of £1 Is. 9d. per head for .the Dominion, and are below the average , . in tho maritime provinces, Qnebec and Saskatchewan. The total value of farm animals computed- on the foregoing averages and tho number of animals on farms in June was £110,416,666. . ; Tbe June price of wool in the Dominion was 9d. per pound. The average wages for farm and domestic help for the Dominion> per month was £5 "2s. 6d. for males and £2 16s. 3d. for females,, and per year £43 10s. 10d. for males and £27 Is. Bd. for females. Tho highest averages are reported for the western provinces, where they reach- about £62 10s. per year for males and £33 6s. Bd. for females. In Ontario and Quebec the averago for males about -£50, and for females £25 per year. •
