SHEPHERD'S BUSH EXHIBITS.

GOING FROM NEW ZEALAND. Tho exhibits of grain, grown on private farms, which are to bo sent to the Shepherd's Bush Exhibition, are being collected in Christchurch (says our Christchurch correspondent). There aro grains of varying qualities, weight, and value, with stalks of extraordinary length, which aro undergoing a test that will result in tho survival of only tho fittest aJid, when the survivors of tho trial liavo been gatliorod, they aro tied ill neat sheaves with all tho stalks of tho saino length. Tho wheat is of the best quality, with heavy ears, and somo of tho sheaves aro over sft. in height. Tho oats also reflect-tho favourable season, and somo of tho sheaves will stand over sft. 6in. in height. The barley has not yet been handled, but tho grain from which tho exhibit is to bo selected is heavy and in oxcellonco worthy to rank with tho oats ami the wheat. In all about 60 cases, containing at least two sheaves each, will bo sent from the South Island, and probably about tho same number will go from the North Island. These sheaves have been sent by farmers all over mid and South Canterbury, as well as a largo number from Oamaru. A number aro also coming from south of Duncdin. All tho Canterbury and Otago grain will bo sent on from Christchurch.
