POLICE CASES. (Before Mr. W. G. llidclell, S.M.) For drunkenness Alfred Burneclc, aliat Pearce, was convicted and.fined 10s., in do \ fault 48 hours' imprisonment. Two' first offenders were charged with the same offence, one being convicted and fined 10s., in default 21 hours' imprisonment, and the other convicted mid discharged. PAK-A-POO CASES. The cxcused, wlio resided at Nos. 22, 39, and 40 Haining Street respectively, pleaded not guilty. Sub-Inspector Phair, oil behalf of tho polico, applied for a remand until Monday. Mr. W. i'errv, for accused, asked that a remand till Wednesday should bo granted, but his Worship fixed the case for Monday, stating that if counsel were not ready then to go on with it a further remand could bo applied for. Bail was fixed, each accused in £25 and surety of £25 for each. AN AGED WANDERER. With tho full load of 81 years on his back, Wm. Mackay George appeared m tho dock to answer a charge of vagrancy. A charge of using obscene language was preferred against a labourer named John Patrick Coyle. About 6 p.m. on Friday accused went to his boarding-house in York Street under the influence of liquor. Ho commenced to quarrel with another inmate of tho house, and was turned out into tho street, when lie used the language complained of. Accused pleaded guilty, aiul asked that a prohibition order be issued against himself. His Worship advised accused to refrain from using obscene languago since ho had three previous convictions against him for the offenco. In ordor to givo him a chance a prohibition order was issued, and accused was convicted and ordered to conic up for sentence when called upon.
