AMATEUR ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION.
MEETING OF AVELLINGTON CENTRE. The committee of the AVellington Centre of the N.Z.A.A.A. met in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms on Saturday night, when there were preFent:— Messrs. J. H. Pollock (in tho chair), B. Guise, J. H. Robinson, M. Burnett, L. O. \J. Salek, L. Short, F. M'Gec, S. Bridge, J. Hccnan, and A. Davies. The following wero chosen to represent the AVellington Centre at the New Zealand championships:— Putting shot, pole and long jumps—M'Kay. ilOvds. and half-mile—Harding. 100 yds. and 220yds.—'Woodger. Three miles—Sharpe. 120 yds. and.44oyds. hurdles, pole vault, and high jump—Evenson. One and" three mile walks—Fitzgerald. In abeyance till Monday: 440 yds. and BSoyds. —AVilliams (AVanganui); aud SSOyds. and mile, Burge. On behalf of the Selection Committee, Mr. J. Heenan reported that Kerr and AVallace were unable to compete. A record of Harding's performances, showing some good times, was read. Bnrge will be tried over a milo today, and if he does it in lmin. 42sec. will be selected. The alternative representative is AVilliams, of AVanganui. Mr. C. E. Bridge was appointed manager of the team. Messrs. Pollock, Bridge, and Robinson, who have been selected to be the centre's delegates at. the conference-reported that they were all able to make the trip, so they will leave on AVcdnesday night. A vote, of thanks was accorded the Auckland Centre for the way in which the members had treated AVilton and Mulcahy at tho recent meeting. \
