MAORI ELECTIONS.
MR. HONE PIRIPI WITHDRAWS. Mr. HOllO Piripi, a candidate for tho Nortliorn Maori electorate, has withdrawn from tlio contest at tho last moment, in deferenco to tho request of the. old chiefs. A further reason for his withdrawal is, 110 states, that tho legality of tho ensuing poll may bo questioned, 011 tho ground that one of tho candidates lias not resigned his appointment in tho Civil Service.
