Tho Premier's Conferenco resolved that tho Commonwealth should return to the States thrcc-fiftlis of tho Customs and excise revenue, instead of three-fourths, provided tho amount returned to tho States in any one year shall not bo less than six and three-quarter millions. It also • recommended special payment to Western Australia, commencing at £250,000, and decreasing annually by |£10,000; the balanco of tho amount to be returned to tho States (after tho special payment to Western Australia) to be distributed on a per capita basis. The Conference further reserved that tho States Governments were agreeable that immediate steps be taken to amend tlio Constitution in order to give effect to these proposals, and enable the Federation to get increased rcvenuo as early as possible. The Conference decided that it was advisable that State Old Age Pensions Acts should bo repealed on the Federal Old Age Pensions Act coming into operation.
