5 PAKEHA CLUB. J Tlio second annual meeting of tho Palceha Hockey Club was hold at Oldhnm's Rooms last night,"Mr. J. Tayler presiding over a fair attendance. In submitting tho annual report, the commit, teo congratulated members on tho successful result of tho past yenr's work. During the year the hon. treasurer received the sum of £S Cs., and disbursed tho sum of Ml Ms. 6d., the term ending with a debit' balance of 2s. Cd. Tho A team again carried off the White Competition. Cup. The team played 12 matches, won 11, drew 1, and scored 23 points out of a possible 24, and scored 71 goals, with only 12 ugninst, Tho B team was also well organised, and carried off second prize. In conjunction with the employees of Messrs. C* Smith, Limited, a progressive euchro party and social was tendered to Mr. J. Smith, tho first club captain, on the eve of his departure for London. Mr. Smith was presented with a suit case from tbo employees and members of the A team, and a set of gold sleeve-links from the Keas.i Mr. Manning was also entertained by the members ! pf his team in January last, and presented with an enlarged photo of the B team, in recognition o£ his past services as captain and organiser. Mr. M'lldowney, club captain, is . to be complimented on tho success his team again achieved last season, and too much praiso cannot bo given him for the manner in which he superintended his men whilo on the field of play. In view of Iho resignation of tho B team (which has formed itself into a separate club), it was decided to piny one tonm only. Four new members wero elected. The following officers wero elected dent, Mr. C. Smith; vice-presidents, Messrs. Horace Smith, G. B. Gregory, F. H. Mather; secretary, Mr. C. J. Pfaff; club captain, Mr. J. M'lldowi'.ey; vice-captain, Mr. .T. Mackay; delegate to tho association, Mr. J. layler; committee, the captain, deputy-captain, secretary, and Messrs. G. Uaaso and L. Jackson. In submitling tho third annual report and '.dlancc-sheet of the St. Patrick's Coficge Old 'Boys' Uockny Club for the past season, tho uom'mi lee congratulates members on the sound I nositifti tho club has attained. Its affairs now, as compared with its condition during tho former season, havo shown n most marked improvement all round. Tho standard of play has improved on that of tho former year. In tho opening matches of last season, owing mainlv to lack of confidence, no less than want of suiiicient practice, tho first cloven suffered two defeats in succession, but on the third occasion a strong rally was made, and it succeeded in defeating one of the strongest teams in tho competition by the large score of S goals to 1. 'Thenceforward the loam improved by leaps and-bounds. The end of the season found tho first eleven third in tho junior championship. In addition to this, no fewer than Ihreo members were chosen to represent tho Wellington juniors.
