■•■ An interesting episode was publicly related the other day by the Bishop of Liverpool. In ono of the poor parish churches of the city thero was found in the offertory box a paper packet in which wore wrapped two halfcrowns. On the paper was written: "My first week's pension, and. I thank God for it." The Bishop added that the gift was from an old woman of 75, who., on Iho previous Friday, had received her first week's pension, and had given it to tho service of God.
