WELLINGTON. WOOL SALES. Dalgety' and Co., Ltd., report-.—Yesterday we held a supplemntary wool sale,, which was the fifth of the season. The total offering from all brokers amounted to 1891 bales, of which we contributed 951 and sold 803. There was a representative attendance of .buyers from all, parts, and competition',was. animated throughout the sale. , . Practically no good wool was offering, _but medium crossbreds. brought from par to id. per lb. in advance of February rates. Lambswool was slightly easier. Murray,; Roberts, .and...Co. report, on. tho supplementary Wellington wool sales as follows:— The- -fifth and last sale/of tne:p'reserit eeasoa was held yesterday, when we catalogued about 300 bales, of wool. Only' of''the buyers have left for Home, and consequently there was a fair nttendanco. Bidding was spirited, especially for any fair-sized parcels of crossbred, and prices (with the exception of lambswool) were par to n |d. higher than last Bale. The advance was.most noticeable in bush- , stained-and heavy conditioned lots, these in many cases making a farthing to halfpenny' , over similar wools in February catalogues. Clean light conditioned crossbred' were riot shown, the bulk of the catalogues being late fihprn, heavy logstained wools. Pieces were in good demand, and sold at fully '-a halfpenny over February rates. It having transpired that Wellington shareholders "are endeavouring to procure the election of Mr. Anld or,Mr; Wilson to represent New Zealand, shareholders on the Talisman Consolidated' Board, an effort is being made in Auckland to obtain proxies in favour ot the election of Mr. B. fl. Stafford. Mr. J. T. ■Hendry : has issued circulars in connection with the matter, in which it is pointed out that Mr,, Stafford for some j-ears held a high position in the'Waihi Company's office, and is personally known to many Auckland, shareholders, who-are thus-able to rely upon him to servo their best interests in inviting proxies to be sent in.
