In tho Court of Sessions, Edinburgh, proceedings in the divorce suit John Alexander Stirling, laird of Kippendavio, Perthshire, v. Clara Elizabeth Stirling and Lord Northland (co-respondent), and the cross-suit Clara Elizabeth Stirling v. John Alexander Stirling and Mrs. Athertoiv (co-respondent), were brought to a close. A divorce was granted Mr. Stirling, but was refused to his wife. Lord Guthrie, In delivering judgment, alluded to the selfish, idle lives of those concerned; especially to thoso led by Mrs. Stirling and Mrs. Atherton, regarding both of whom ho spoke in very severo terms.
