FIVE PER CENT. ADVANCE. (Dt TSLKURAI'H—VItKSS ASSOCIATION—COPYWOnT.) London, March 9. The wool sales opened briskly at about a 5 per cent, advance FURTHER DETAILS. (Rco. March 10, I(MS p.m.) London, March 10. At the wool sales 9289 bales were offered. Thero was a capital selection of crossbreds and a miscellaneous lot of ineriuos. Thero was a crowded attendance from all centres, including many Americans. Merinos showed an all-round advanco ot o per cent, on closing rates at the February sales. Best merinos were unchanged. lopmaking sorts advanced 5- per cent. Everybody was bidding.
Dalgety and Company, Limited, Wellington, ] have received the following cable message Horn i their-London office, dated March 9:- Ihe wool . sales have opened. There is a large attendance j of buyers, and competition is animated; selection fair. Greasy merinos and greasy cross- : breds have advanced five per cent, as coin-. , pared with the closing rates of January series, i Scoured merinos: A change if any is in sellers ; favour. Extra super greasy raermo wools Have - not been offered for sale yet." . Messrs. Levin and Co., Ltd.', have received the following cable from their London agents, dated London, March March wool sales have opened-; Merinos and crossbreds generally opened at an advance of 5 per cent, on last sales' closing rates. American buyers are operating freely." Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., have received the following London cable, under date March 10':—The sales have, opened with strojg competition and a large attendance ot buyers. There is a good demand with heavy buyine from all branches of the trade, and prospects are brighter. Prices are higher by a id. to id. per lb. Messrs. Murray, Roberts and Co. have received the following cablegram from their London agents, Messrs. Sanderson, Murray, and Co., dated March 9:—The sales have opened with a large attendance of buyers, and brisk competition. Compared with the closing rates of last sales, merino shows 5 per cent, advance, and crossbred par to 5 per cent, advance, inferior descriptions of crossbred showing tho greatest advance. l - , AUSTRALIAN PRODUCE MARKETS.
