Tim Akaroa correspondent of' the "Press" reports that the absence of and consequent smooth water during tlic past week, have been most favourable for the training work of Fogwoll and AYhclch, who, paced by Arnst and Webb respectively, have now settled down to steady solid work, each doing two rows daily with a hill walk in the interval. Great interest is taken in the training, and with the four men on tho harat 1 the same time spectators aro treated to some splendid exhibitions of sculling. If Fogwell beats AVhclch he will accompany Arnst to England, where both will compoto for'tho Nugget Polish Company's prize of £500, provided that they can got tho, raco put olf until August instead of July, so as to enable them to get there in time. The champion expresses his intention of meeting Durniiu in Canada, and, if successful, to match himself against Barry, the English champion.
