FASHION NOTES FROM LONDON.
Most of the fashionable narrow skirts aro facedwith velvet or cloth, a certain amoiuit of weight being necessary to keep thorn down. Many skirts as well as bodices are beginning to open in front. Wings and quills share tho honours, with long ostrich plumes. Most of the hats shade the faco, somo aro draped with wide ribbon forming tho crown and part of the brim, and the uso of braid is an innovation. Sashes aro the mode; tho fashionable kinds aro made up and worn round the hips. Somo cross over the shoulders liko a fichu, and aro tied in long loops and ends at tho back. Somo surround the waist, and aro brought to each shoulder blade; Hat rosettes and tassels— somo start on folds beneath tho armholes and so arranged round tho waist, somo falling in ono end below the shouldor blado, to the hem of the dress. There is a new girdle with ribbon threaded through buttonholes. Mnnv gowns aro laced in front with satin ribbon threaded through buttonholes. Many gowns aro laced in front with satin ribbon, which has nn excellent effect. Hugo ruffs aro likely to be worn in the near future with soft marabout and ostrich feather tips.
