Tho connection of Kelburno with the drainage system has almost been completed, and in a week or two that portion of Kelburno in tho city before Northland camo in, will be entirely finished. All the city side part of Koseneath has been connected, but work on tho other sido of tho hill will bo delayed for a littlo wbilo until arrangements are made for tho disposal' of the sewage. Mr. T. W. Leslie is a popular judge of amateur athletic fixtures. Ho has been invited to adjudicate on tho Victoria College Athletic Club's sports at the Athletic Park and on the Catholic Young Men's Athletic Club's at the Basin Reserve. Both events take place on Starch 27, and as the application of the former club reached him first, Mr. Leslie will be present as judgo at that club's fixture. An opportunity for Hutt to movo with the times has been declined. It was offered in the following letter from Mr. Georgo Bradley, received by the Hutt Borough Council last ovening:—"Dear Sirs, —I havo a motor car for salo, which would bo a great convenience to tho council in conveying them and their visitors to different parts of the borough, when necessary, thereby saving tho expense of hiring vehicles. It has a seating capacity for five persons. Tho engine is 10 to 18 h.p., with four cylinders. Tho toimeau is removable, which, when removed from tho car, leaves tho two front seats with a platform at the back, on which six men could stand. This would make tho ear very serviceable to the Fire Brigade by towing tho hoso and ladder-cart, and conveying oight. of tho firemen to the sceno of the fire in one-eighth of tho time occupied at present on foot."— (Councillors: "Hear, hear.")—"Tho prico is £250 sterling. Tho ear referred to is now being upholstered and painted, and will be ready for the road shortly. I have given the car a severe test both for hill-climbing and speed with full load. I would like you to bring this boforo the Mayor and Councillors at your earliest convenience." Councillor Baldwin appeared to think there was something in tho proposal, but others did not regard it seriously. Tho offer is now open for somo moro enterprising town.
