Mrs. Jones's house, and the jtiry found accused guilty of common assault. Accused, who gave his age as 20, has been in gaol siuce December 29, and the Judge- ordered a further imprisonment for three months. Samuel Francis Irving Crofts sued for divorce from Mary Alison Crofts on tho ground of misconduct with a co-respondent named Jack. A decree nisi was granted. : Clsborne, March' 4. At tho Supremo Court to-day, his Honour Judge Edwards' presiding, Norman M'Lcod was convicted of the theft of a horse, saddle! and bridle, and was sentenced to two years' hard labour. The case of, alleged horsestealing against Joseph Hannon was adjourned, owing to the failure of the principal witness for tho prosecution to attend. > A warraut was issued for his apprehension and later, he was arrested by the police for drunkenness. The jury disagreed in the caso of Edward Beniface, alleged' breaking and entering, and a new trial was ordered to take placo on Monday. James Straker Jackson, found gmltjv of assault, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment. Louisa Margaret Price was admitted to probation for twelve months, on a charge of falso declaration to the Registrar of Births.
