A CHRISTCHURCH MAGISTRATE'S OPINION. (nr TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Chrlstehurch, March 4. At to-day's meeting of the Licensing Committee, tho chairnan (Mr. H. W. Bishop, S.M.) addressed a few remarks to the committee's new inspector, Sub-Inspector M'Gratb, late of Wellington.. "I don't know what your praotico is in Wellington, Mr. Inspector," he said, "but hero wo aro pretty strict." "Wo aro every bit as strict in Wellington," said Sub-Inspector M'Gratb. "I formed rather a different impression myself," answered Mr. Bishop, "judging by the outsido of hotel buildings there. Continuing, ho told tho Inspector that tho committee would back him up in any matter ho wants remedied. "Wo want you to be reasonably exacting, but not unreasonable, iu your requirements," ho concluded.
