At a fire which, broke out at tho Albion Hotel, King's Street, Margate, at two o'clock on a recent Saturday morning, Police Constable Sales, of the borough police, rescued ■no fewer than eight persons pending the arrival of the firo brigade. On discovering the fife, which was burning fiercely on tho ground floor, the constable called for assistance,' and obtaining a ladder brought,down Miss Dorothy Ewall, a visitor, the barmaid, two servants, and four children, aged from two to fourteen, of the proprietor, Mr. Frank Fenner. Mr. D. G. Andrews and the boots escaped from the back of the promises. Members of the fire brigade rescued Mr. and Mrs. Fenner and the cook by means of the escape, tho cook being almost in a state of collapse. All were in night attire only. They wcro promptly taken for shelter to the police station. A heavy gale made the lescue all tho more difficult and dangerous. The restaurant was burnt out.
